Share Words of Encouragement

Words are arguably the most powerful tool we as humans possess. This week, uplift and inspire those who need it by providing encouragement.

We can all use a pick-me-up now and again. And after a year – or a year and half – like the one we just had, a bit of positivity can be appreciated by all. Whether it’s a favorite quote, music lyrics, scripture or just a few emojis, you can help change someone’s day by sharing a positive message or sentiment with them.

And when you’re finished, drop a comment below to tell us about the encouraging words you shared.

I do this every day….my husband was homeless 10 years and he doesn’t forget about those he met along the way so we try to do something nice for as many as we can. Today I am making a cake for a couple of people who are on the streets not to impress anyone.. just to remind them that they are not forgotten and that they are loved!!! While at the store buying a few things for the cake I met an elderly lady who was not smiling and I could tell she had a heavy heart so I gave her a little smile and said GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!! She smiled and asked for a hug… I was raised with southern values so I ran over to her and hugged her like she was my grandma!! She patted me on the head and said I was a sweet little girl!!! Boy am I walking on cloud 9 today!!!!

I Just performed a funeral for a senior that I met at a nursing facility.
I was and still is doing senior ministry on Tuesdays. I go and preach the gospel to the seniors that can’t leave the building because of physical and mental impairments.
MS.YOLANDA and I became very good friends.
She was released from the nursing home and medically cleared of dementia. We remained good friends 4 years later until she had a massive HEART attack last week a day before her 73rd bday.
The family reached out to me to come perform the funeral . That made me go harder for my seniors even the more…I have been volunteering for hospice 15 years.
I’m in college now 2 be a rn…palliative nurse..I have great sympathy and empathy….I love people period.

There’s an 80s+ lady my wife met a few years ago, shortly after loosing her 4th husband. No, she wasn’t secretly killing them off. We visit with her at least weekly, and there is hardly a day that goes by that my wife doesn’t talk with her.
Is there a specific ‘Act of Kindness’ we share with her? Probably not. She just knows that we are there for her 24/7/365. And, as much of a “pain” she can be at times; we would not have her or her dog any other way. That is part of what makes her so special. All the three of us can say about each other, is that we are closer the ‘blood’… and just love each other.

Then, we are so blessed to be part of an outreach that feeds about 40 homeless twice a month. The ages range from teens to 70 plus. We used to provide safe, overnight sleeping arrangements until Covid hit. Now all we can do is check on them. Fortunately, while the weather may be hot in NorCal, there are many areas with good shade, that are routinely 20-30° cooler during the day.
