Share a Meal with a SeniorWhile it’s a little difficult to gather over a home cooked meal this year, here are some ways you can bring the joy of the holidays to your senior loved ones and friends.
For many, Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for everything you have and celebrate the simple things: like the smell of home cooked food, the happiness of the people who matter most, the memories made around a table. Giving and sharing are wonderful ways to show gratitude, which is why this Thanksgiving holiday we encourage you to share a meal with a senior friend or loved one.
If you’re cautious of inviting others into your home, we recommend trying one of these instead:
- Prepare a meal for a senior friend before your Thanksgiving dinner and hand deliver it to their home.
- Offer to make their grocery run for them and, if you can, cover the cost.
- Write them a note to express your gratitude for their irreplaceable friendship.
- Send them a gift card so they can enjoy their favorite restaurant.
