Make Time to Lend a Hand

Finished this kind act? Log it!

It may seem like there’s no time to do anything. Between work, taking the kids to their sporting activities and picking up household necessities at the store, cooking dinner can even be tough.

That’s why it’s important to create a kindness calendar to allocate time for the “other” things in your life. In the months ahead, pencil in slots of time to volunteer in your community or help those who need it.

Here are a few easy ways to get started:

  1. Jot down a few acts of kindness you can easily do.
  2. Download our free printable calendar and schedule your acts of kindness in advance.

While time may be fleeting, kindness is permanent.

Who do you plan to set time for? Leave a comment about it.

I had to think of anything I did to qualify as an act of kindness.
I listened to someone I know casually telling me how he tore his calf muscle while moving heavy furniture. I have him words of encouragement. I enjoy listening.

I do housekeeping and light caregiving. This one lady is a hoarder and so she barely took down Christmas. I helped her pack 6huge bins full of Christmas decorations. It took us two days but we finished. She’s 82 and it would have taken her months. Felt great to make her feel better 🙏💞

I helped some seniors in my RV set up Facebook pages so they can keep up with their grandkids. Watching all them get friend requests from the younger family members made my week! All the seniors can now keep up with each other when they go back to their home states, so they’re really excited.

An elderly woman whose husband is terminally ill, has so much saddness and stress in herr life right now. I took her a gift and left it on her porch, hoping that when she opened it. It helped her to smile if only for a few moments

I live in Texas, so Monday I had one friend stay the night, and Tuesday thru Friday night my friend who is 75 stayed with me because he had no electricity or running water. We visited and I cooked for him. I lost power during the freeze for 20 hours, which was much better than most. We stayed warm by my gas heater I’m so blessed to have. Today I helped him turn his water off at his house. I also had 4 pipes burst, but we made due. There have been so so many acts of kindness throughout this disaster. I am very grateful I was able to get my pipes fixed already! Many prayers for the suffering.
