Connect with Kindness

Have you heard? We have a Facebook group and we want you to be an active member! Connect with kindness by meeting other positive people.

Recently, many of us have had personal experiences with loneliness and isolation. Unfortunately, this is a reality many seniors face all the time.

In the Ready to Care Facebook Group, you can connect and support others, including seniors, who may feel isolated. Once you have joined, your care mission this week is to participate!

Here are five ideas to get you started:

  1. Post an uplifting quote or verse
  2. Discuss ways to safely help seniors
  3. Share happy news or a helpful article from a trusted source
  4. Tell your story of how you are making a difference in your community
  5. Invite your caring friends and seniors to join the group

Let’s join together to help reduce isolation and loneliness, especially for seniors. With the support of a safe and encouraging virtual community, we can connect and increase our care impact!

I said hello to a senior sitting by themselves on the bench, people watching.
She answered “This is way better than tv!”
I agree! Outside in the lovely weather, watching families enjoying themselves, so relaxing…

Staying with my 102 year old Aunt while we figure out different care arrangements for her.
She is vibrant with a wonderful sense of humor. We are both benefiting from the experience.

I’ve talked to a couple of seniors and took one to a couple of doctor visits and I think this a lot more for me than it did for them! I really enjoyed their company and the stories they told. Awesome people!! ❤️

My favorite person in the world is in an Assisted living facility. We talk several times a day. We read the bible together everyday! I wish I could do more. Honestly she helps me more than I help her!!!!😇🥰🤗

Method 1) Can adjust the elderly to go out and walk alone

The elderly are usually lonely and lonely at home. They can contact the outside world through travel, and their minds and eyes are more broadened. Walking out of a narrow and monotonous life increases their interest, which is naturally beneficial to the health of the body and mind, and can also stimulate the vitality of the elderly. . Elderly people often travel with family and like-minded friends and family, and at the same time, they can meet many new friends during the travel process, which is very beneficial to eliminate the lonely personality of the elderly.

My husband and I enjoyed a porch family time with his 90 year old mother. In assisted living she remains in her room for most things such as meals and bingo. They call it ‘door bingo’.
We must make an appointment and meet an employee at the main entrance who rolls mom in her wheelchair outside. We must wear masks and have earlier worn gloves. His mother may remove her mask if we wear our masks. Mother enjoys being outside on days the weather is comfortable. We arrange with our daughter who is an activities director in an assisted living in Maryland to call our phone using duo which is a AP where the caller and one receiving the call see each other. Mother is so delighted to view and talk with her granddaughter. We shared happenings and improvements in health from other family with her.
We grow lilies which happen to be called ‘Lady Marie’ her name. We cut one blooming lily with two buds to open the next two days. As we say goodbye to her, we give her these to take back to her room. In our later daily calls she may exclaim ‘My lily! Today it bloomed!

I have prayed for the little ones, children who are caught in the middle. I donate to many different causes ,many and I always make sure that I don’t forget the children. I came from a broken home, It took me forever to learn how to trust someone. Most of my childhood was nothing but fear and lots and lots of crying, so I understand what they are going through and Its my pleasure to be able to help them. Children are a gift from God we should teach them as such.
