2021 Resolution Challenge

Our Ready to Care Community has grown so much this year! The opportunities are endless when it comes to making the world a better place for seniors.
Finished this kind act? Log it!

2020 was a challenging year across the world. We were stressed, we were sad, and we were exhausted. But despite these overwhelming feelings, our Ready to Care community continued to grow, showing us that the world is capable of kindness and care, especially towards our most vulnerable communities.

This New Year, we challenge you to take our 2021 Resolution Challenge. We want you to set a personal goal by telling us how many Care Missions you’d like to complete this year.

We also want to know what you thought of our 2020 Care Missions! Which was your favorite one to complete? Did the Care Missions introduce you to new senior friends?

We look forward to reading your answers in the comments.

During the whole month of December, a neighbor and I, were secret elves for 3 elderly ladies in our neighborhood, who lived alone. Every 3 or 4 evenings we delivered little bags of fun items (fuzzy socks, snowman magnets, Christmas paper plates, Christmas goodies, etc.. On the last delivery we stuck in a Christmas card telling our friends who we were and gave them our phone numbers, asking them to please call us if they ever need anything! They told us how these mailbox surprises were SO much appreciated and it made them really happy! It was really fun for us as well…

I feel it’s our job as human kindness to help our elders to the best of our ability.. I’m not sure how many acts I completed or how many seniors I was able to help.. I will commit to one care act a month in the year 2021.. God bless everyone for continuing to make our elders feel the worth and respect they deserve 100%..

I would like to be able to complete 24 Care Missions this year. (2 per month)
One of my favorites was when I challenged a group of Nursing students to collect donations for a Low Income senior living apt complex. Even with Covid- they were able to help create gift bags for approximately 60 residents.

I have helped my neighbor with her groceries and her garbage in the past, who is near 90 but a real go getter. She and I sat and talked for a while. Exchanged numbers. Her son and daughter are grateful to have neighbors close by to their mom. Let us all Keep seeking ways to help all elderly when outside.

Good morning, yes this year was a big impact on our Colleagues and Seniors, but we all overcame the optical sacrifice of caring for our Seniors.
I really can’t pick a particular favorite one because all was my favorite task and missions. This year I would like to work more with the Seniors and thrived my best to do right by them and try to have them do right for them. Happy New Yesr in advance 😜

I made up 6 goodie bags for some seniors in a retirement home that I visited every week as a volunteer when we were allowed to go in.
Now we keep in touch with regular phone calls once a week. They are so lonely not being able to hug their children., grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

I believe in helping the elderly, I like try to do the best I can do. Sometimes they get a little prideful and even refused the help.
Sometime you have to give a little mindful
And respect their space

I love this ministry!! I spent the last year helping a senior with dementia. She passed away Dec.4th and I am committed to doing at least an act of kindness every month, and hopefully more, but I WILL do at least 12!! My favourite is actually taking the TIME with seniors. They seem to appreciate that the most!! Sometimes it’s simply bringing a nice hot cup of tea with a sweetie to enjoy together, writing cards for birthdays etc., doing a puzzle together, or just having a chinwag!! Hopefully 2021 will allow us more contact for drives et .Happy New Year!!🤩🤩

Last evening, we took a meal to a lady who has cancer and has recently had surgery. She met me at the door, staying inside for safe distance of course. She mouthed a thank you so much. We received another thanks by text when we returned home.
What joy it gives our ❤️ to serve. I awoke and asked the Lord for a way to serve that day. Blessings to all for 2021.

I sent Christmas cards to the widows/widowers in our church, and the church donated gift cards to include in them. Also, helped to make up a gift bag of goodies for the one widow who is in an assisted living facility. They aren’t allowing visitors, or allowing them to leave, so a gift card was not a viable option for her.

Would like to set a goal of 24 missions-2 a month-for 2021.
