I’m Ready to Log It!

The Facts: This week, we’re asking you to thank three people you’re grateful to have in your life, and at least one of them should be a senior. Then, reach out to someone else and do something kind for them. Be the reason they’re grateful this week.

But, we’re also taking the Gratitude Challenge, and thanking YOU! Your kind words. Your inspiration. Your caring acts. You’ve done so much to help seniors over the last few months.

Here are just a few reasons we’re grateful for our community members:

  • “My husband made dinner and asked me to take some to my aunt and uncle. Just dropping it off made me feel good AND we ended up visiting which I would not have done if we had not dropped off fresh food. Food and family connection, it was small but awesome.” —Jessie, Ready to Care Member

  • “One of my favorite missions was to mail my clients a post card when I was on vacation! To see the expressions on their faces when I got back that I took time out of my vacation to send them a card was priceless!” —Karol, Ready to Care Member

  • “I met this senior gentleman at the supermarket who wanted to chat about the appliance the air fryer. I really was in a hurry but took five minutes of my time to listen. He was so happy for those five minutes of conversation and walked away with a smile from ear to ear. My five minutes made his day.” —Patricia, Ready to Care Member

Together, our entire community has completed 1,460 care missions, making the difference in thousands of others’ lives.

  5. Sent 2 thank you cards to neighbors of my father in law. I recently spent 2 weeks with my father in law as he needed a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted and nonfsmily loves nearby, so I offered to go and care for him. During this visit I met some of his most wonderful neighbors who have been checking in on him (he lives alone) and invited us over for a couple of meals while I was there. So thankful for neighbors who care!

I reached out to the daughter of an old client, who is in the middle of the California fires. I offered my assistance to check on her mom’s house which is local, and offered them a place to stay, should they need. I do have concerns, they are very wealthy, and I have a modest house, I’m not complaining, I’m very grateful I have a roof over my head. But I would like them to see how little I do have material wise, but am so happy and grateful. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

  9. My mission was to put a smile on my client’s face. I am always making sure my clients are happy and enjoying dinner and good company. Then I put together something and hoped it worked out. Came to his place this afternoon and put up a little Christmas tree. He was so happy to see the little tree. As he was having his supper and looking at the tree. He looked at me and said thank you for the lovely little tree. Made his evening.
