Apr 23 Care Mission
Say “Hi” to a SeniorFact: Science shows that even small social gestures can have a positive impact on physical and emotional health. They even can extend life. Research also shows that seniors are more likely to be socially isolated, which can put them at even greater risk. But here’s the good news: even casual social interactions can help, which means you can make a difference.
Say “Hi” to a Senior
Saying “Hi” is a simple gesture, but don’t confuse simple with being unimportant. Science shows even small social interactions may extend life and have a positive impact on health. Unfortunately, seniors are at particular risk of social isolation.
Your mission is to put down your phone, look up, and say “hi” to as many seniors as you can this week. In the grocery store. On the street. Walking the dog. Just think about how one simple act of care can so easily spread smiles and positivity. And best of all, you might just help someone live a longer, happier life.
