I’m Ready to Log It!

It’s such a relief when you finally tackle that project that’s been on your list too long. These warm, summer months are calling for us to finally clear that backyard space or outdoor garden. So, grab your gardening tools and window cleaner, it’s time to make the house exterior as beautiful as what’s inside!

Give a senior friend a hand this week by finishing an outdoor project together. Here are 5 tips to keep in mind when refreshing an outdoor space:

  1. Keep them involved. Set aside tasks that they can help with. Accomplishing tasks feels good for everyone!
  2. Bring supplies. Bring your own tools so that you can tackle anything that comes your way!
  3. Set aside a day. Time flies when you’re having fun–or cleaning a lot! Make sure to give yourselves plenty of time to make a real impact.
  4. Start smart. Keep in mind things that your senior friend might struggle with the most and tackle those things first.
  5. Go the extra mile. Once their outdoor space is clean, offer to help them on future projects.

  7. I helped an elderly neighbor By clipPing some bushes and rearrange some flowers and outdoor garden decorations and pick up the clippings around the front of their home For them one day. My friend and I volunteer tweeted to help and it only took about fourty five minutes and I felt great for helping an elderly neighbor and not accepting any payment even though she tried to offer it several times. It feels good when you help someone out of the kindness in your heart.

  40. For a while now, on the invitation of the husband of a couple at a Tuesday morning Bible study I go to, I have been helping the husband 3 days a week with his outside yardwork. I have been very thankful for the opportunity to help. Although I had wanted to help for free he has insisted on paying a few dollars an hour. That does help my situation however I would really rather help for free like some other people I have helped for free at times. I think God wants me to be helpful just for the sake of helping people and not for money. When I was a Boy Scout we always would help others for free and for the sake of helping. I believe there is nothing wrong with receiving money if someone can afford it and insists, however I would rather just help. I am very thankful for this Ready To Care with good suggestions weekly. I am good at following directions and suggestions however I am not good at thinking up things. So Ready To Care really helps me to be helpful.
