I’m Ready to Log It!

As the world takes measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, we know that keeping our seniors safe is a top priority. But the distance can leave them isolated and feeling lonely. Some may even be confused or worried with all that is going on, especially if they cannot receive regular visitors. But social distancing does not have to mean disconnecting. Let’s stay connected from a safe distance.

This week your care mission is to check in with a senior by sending a text, making a call or writing. Simply ask, “How are you doing?” or maybe “How can I help you right now?”

Did you check in with a senior friend or loved one this week? Tell us about it.

  8. Hello!
Yes I have. I walked to a neighbors house. She is a senior citizen; I’d estimate about 78 years old. Rang her doorbell and let her know that if she needs any help I can help her. She invited me in but I declined because is COVID-19.
    She was very understanding.
I asked her to call me if she needed help. I wish I knew more older folk in my neighborhood. I’d reach out to them.

  47. Thankful for good health and trying to stay mentally together! Why when we know we can’t be out socializing, we really want to?! A senior friend and I got together at her home for her birthday and a glass of wine last week! We only go to the grocery store when needed and really miss attending church services but online has to do for now! My birthday is 6 days away and sad I won’t be able to celebrate with family as every year we celebrate all the March birthdays together, that’s 5 of us and our families! All I want right now is for them and us to stay healthy and if distance is the answer that’s what we shall do! Please everyone, take care of yourselves and pray for this to be over soon! WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!

  48. I called 4 of my senior friends to see how they were all doing and I asked them if they needed me to do anything for them, now or in the future? I also assured them that as soon as this ordeal was over that I would come over and visit with them, and that made them all very happy! I think the world of my senior friends and I really am saddened by all that has transpired in our country and the world for that matter! I just hope that there is a rainbow at the end of all this suffering for all of us, as we are all connected and this type of thing we are experiencing now is Biblical and unprecedented! Be safe and know what time we are in people!! May God bless you all! ❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️

  61. I said Hi to a senior friend and wonder how things going and asked her to stay save. And the reply I got is amazing: Heard some advice on the radio last night, it said to have inner peace, that we should always finish things we start, and we all could use more calm in our lives. I looked through my house to find things that I’d started and hadn’t finished, so I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Whiskey, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiumun srciptuns, an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how feckin fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all who need inner piss. An telum u luvum. And two al bee hapee wilst in de instalation.

I went outside and waved to her, then I left a nice card with the nurse that works there and I ask her if she would please give it to the lady that I waved at. I ask her if,she needed anything at all to let me know and I would get it for her. I also left a pretty card that was blank so she could send it to her family!
